Geneva Airport — Chamonix
Arrive at Geneva Airport (GVA) on your own flight. We organize a group transfer at 1pm; if timing doesn't work, an airport shuttle to the hotel is also available. From there, we head to the birthplace of European outdoor culture at the foot of the Alps: the town of Chamonix! Our hotel is in Les Houches, next to Chamonix, and also the site of the official start/finish gate of the Tour du Mont Blanc.
You can rest at the hotel or explore the town, home to countless outdoor gear brands should you need to top up or upgrade your equipment. Then, get a good rest to prepare for the trek ahead.
Chamonix — Lac Blanc — Le Tour
Gather at the hotel at 9:30am; after your French guide introduces the itinerary, we set off from the Chamonix cable car station to begin our Tour du Mont Blanc.
First, we ride the Flégère cable car up onto Mont Blanc, taking in the famous peaks and the Mer de Glace glacier throughout the Chamonix valley. We then trek up to the Alps' most iconic Lac Blanc, the postcard sight not to be missed — offering panoramic views of Mont Blanc alongside the famous Grandes Jorasses and Aiguille du Midi.
On the way down, we pass the Col des Montets and the Aiguillette des Posettes, then head towards Montroc and the village of Le Tour. After the day's trek, we'll enjoy a simple local meal at a mountain-pasture chalet.
Le Tour — Trient
After breakfast, we begin trekking along the Col de Balme, climbing to 2,200m at the border of France and Switzerland. With rolling snow peaks and streams all around, we'll take lunch here.
After lunch, we descend through Swiss alpine pastures, through dense forest and hillsides, for a true taste of pastoral scenery. Along this stretch, we take in stunning views of the Argentière, Le Tour, and Mont Blanc glaciers.
After crossing the Swiss pastures, our day ends in the village of Trient. Its famous pink church is right here — don't forget to take a photo!
Trient — Col Ferret — Italian valley
Today's trek brings us close to precious alpine flora — edelweiss, alpine lilies, and white campion. We'll climb to the 2,537m Col Ferret, the border between France and Italy, passing through the beautiful La Peule pastures.
Once over the pass, we enter Italy's Val Ferret, trekking opposite Mont Blanc, eventually arriving at the end of the Val Veni glacier to take in its magnificent scenery.
Mont de la Saxe — Courmayeur
Today is a journey full of natural beauty and rural charm. Along the way, you'll cross dense forest, clear streams and quiet fields, feeling the simplicity and tranquility of Alpine rural life. Starting from the Alp Bertone pasture, we take on a magnificent trek along the Mont de la Saxe ridge, passing views of Mont Blanc, Mont Dolent, the Aiguille du Triolet, and the Grandes Jorasses.
On the way down, we pass the Col Sapin and the Mont de la Saxe ridgeline, enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the Alps along the way. We then arrive in Courmayeur and take a short shuttle bus up to our mountain chalet.
Courmayeur — Col de la Seigne — Les Chapieux — Saint-Maxime
Climbing up from Val Veny, we pass Lac Combal glacial lake before crossing the Col de la Seigne, the border between Italy and France. This stretch not only showcases the natural beauty of the Alps but also gives us the chance to explore the region's distinctive landforms up close.
We may also take a detour via Croix du Bonhomme and Mont Fortin for another vantage point over the majestic Mont Blanc, adding to the visual richness of the day's trek.
Saint-Maxime — Les Contamines — Les Houches
Visiting the work of local dairy farmers in the Beaufort region is a rare opportunity to learn about local agriculture and cheese-making traditions. As we cross pastures and waterfalls, climbing to the day's highest pass at 2,665m, the grandeur and natural beauty of the Alps unfolds before us.
We then descend to the 2,329m Col du Bonhomme, continuing on to the Chapel of Notre-Dame de la Gorge. After descending, we head toward Les Houches, finally arriving at the official Tour du Mont Blanc gate to celebrate completing the trek! We then arrive at the hotel to enjoy a celebration dinner, closing out the day's trek.
