Daily Itinerary
Milan → Bolzano
Gather in Milan around 1pm and head north by private vehicle into the Alps, toward Bolzano — the gateway city to the Dolomites.
Check into your hotel to settle in. In the evening, we'll have dinner together, and your guide will walk you through the days ahead as we prepare for a wonderful trek.
Santa Maddalena Village · Lago di Braies
As a warm-up day, we'll visit two of the Dolomites' most photographed spots.
First, drive to Santa Maddalena village in Val di Funes — one of the Dolomites' classic postcard settings, with beautiful scenery along the way. On arrival, take in the spectacular Odle peaks, then set off on the Adolf Munkel trail. This route brings you close to the dramatic northern face of the Odle group, with jagged peaks rising sharply above alpine pastures. The walk ends at the small chapel viewpoint in the middle of the valley, standing quietly beneath knife-edge limestone peaks — one of the Dolomites' most iconic scenes.
After the trek, drive to the "pearl lake of the Dolomites," Lago di Braies — the range's most famous, most visited and most photographed alpine lake, often said to make a Dolomites trip incomplete without a visit. We'll have about an hour of free time here to walk around the lake or relax and take photos by the shore.
In the evening, head to the foot of the Tre Cime for the night, ready for tomorrow's trek.
The Tre Cime Area
After a short drive, we'll arrive at the Tre Cime area, a former World War I battlefield. The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are one of the Dolomites' most iconic landmarks, famous for their three dramatic, jagged rock towers.
Today we'll walk the classic Tre Cime loop, starting with a gentle climb past Rifugio Auronzo and over the pass of the same name, as the three great towers gradually reveal themselves in full. The trail continues to Rifugio Locatelli, today's endpoint and one of the best spots to view the full panorama of the Three Peaks.
After photos and a rest, descend on the western side of the Tre Cime back to the parking area. We'll then drive to Lago di Misurina, where — weather permitting — you can see the Tre Cime's reflection directly in the water, before continuing to the area around Cortina.
The Seceda Ridge
In the morning, drive along Val Gardena to the colorful mountain town of Ortisei. Take the cable car up to 2,500m to Seceda, entering its sharp, dramatic ridgeline from above.
We'll trek along the knife-edge ridge deep into the Puez-Odle Nature Park, with steep cliffs and wide valleys unfolding below — one of the most visually striking trails in the Dolomites.
The afternoon is a gentle descent, ending at Passo Rodella. In the evening, a roughly 30-minute drive brings us back to the Bolzano area for the night.
Alpe di Siusi
Today we head to the largest high-altitude meadow in the Alps — Alpe di Siusi. The trek climbs steadily toward the Catinaccio group, reaching the Rifugio Bolzano viewpoint at 2,400m, where you can look out over the entire plateau and the distant Dolomite ranges.
In the evening, golden light spills across the Dolomite peaks — one of the best spots to photograph sunrise and sunset over the "Rosengarten" group. Our mountain refuge tonight sits in a prime location — an absolute must for photography lovers.
Castelluccio (the "Cloud Castle")
Today we'll follow the ridge trail known as the "Cloud Castle Route" deep into the mountains, crossing peaks, ridgelines and medieval castle ruins. Jagged rock formations line the way, the dolomite rock's knife-like character fully on display. After completing the loop, we return to the Alpe di Siusi starting point in the afternoon before driving to the hotel for dinner.
Lake Garda → Milan
We'll drive the Lake Garda road, often called one of the most beautiful drives in the world, before returning to Milan around 1–2pm, bringing the trip to a close.
