Tree climbing and zip-lining on arrival, three days trekking through the Naka rainforest with a night camping under the canopy, guided night walks in search of snakes and stick insects, the canopy walkway and amber-making at Wangtianshu, a run down the Nanla River, and a morning in a Dai village before the trip ends back in Jinghong.
Trip Highlights

Tree climbing and zip-lining into the canopy
On arrival in the Naka rainforest, the trip opens with two hours of tree climbing and zip-lining through the canopy — a hands-on introduction to the forest before the trekking begins.

Three days deep in the Naka rainforest
Three full trekking days, roughly 21km in total through dense tropical forest, including a night camping under the canopy — carried and set up by the local team, so you trek light.

After dark: the rainforest's nightlife
Guided night walks after dinner turn up tree snakes, stick insects and the forest's other nocturnal residents, torchlit and close up, with a local guide who knows where to look.

Evenings at Naka Rainforest Lodge
Between trekking days, evenings at the lodge bring rainforest-style meals, a French-style dinner and campfire party, and glimpses of local culture — a comfortable base deep in the forest.

Wangtianshu's canopy walkway, amber-making and river rafting
A change of pace on Day 5: the famous canopy walkway at Wangtianshu, a stop to try amber-making, and a 6km run down the Nanla River by raft.

Dai village culture
The trip closes with a morning in a Dai village, Xishuangbanna's largest ethnic group, learning about daily life, architecture and Buddhist tradition before the return to Jinghong.
Full Itinerary

Jinghong → Naka Rainforest
The trip begins in Jinghong, capital of Xishuangbanna, with a two-hour walk through the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, one of Asia's leading collections of tropical plants, followed by an hour for lunch. In the early afternoon, a ninety-minute drive brings you deep into the Naka rainforest, where the trip properly begins: two hours of tree climbing and zip-lining through the canopy, guided by the local team who know these trees well. In the evening, check into Naka Rainforest Lodge for a rainforest-style dinner, then head back out after dark for a guided night walk (about an hour) in search of the forest's nocturnal residents — tree snakes, stick insects and whatever else the torchlight finds.

Naka Rainforest Trek
A full day trekking through the Naka rainforest: around eight hours on the trail, covering roughly 8km through dense tropical forest, with a simple packed lunch eaten in the forest itself. Our local team carries and sets up the tents ahead of you, so you trek with just a light daypack — no need to carry camping gear. The night is spent camping under the canopy, deep in the rainforest, with the sounds of the forest all around after dark.

Naka Rainforest Trek → Naka Rainforest Lodge
A second full day on the trail, around seven hours covering roughly 7km, continuing deeper into the Naka rainforest. In the evening the trek loops back to Naka Rainforest Lodge for a proper bed and a rainforest-style dinner — a welcome return to comfort after a night under canvas.

Naka Rainforest Trek → Naka Rainforest Lodge
A shorter day on the trail, around six hours covering roughly 6km, with lunch a rainforest hotpot eaten out on the trail. Back at Naka Rainforest Lodge in the evening, dinner takes a different turn — a French-style rainforest dinner, followed by a campfire party to close out three days in the forest.

Wangtianshu & Nanla River → Fostiano Hotel
The trip moves on to Wangtianshu Scenic Area, home to Xishuangbanna's famous canopy walkway strung high through the rainforest treetops. Around three hours of walking combines the walkway itself with a stop to try your hand at amber-making, followed by a Hani feast for lunch. In the afternoon, head to the Nanla River for a 6km, two-hour rafting run through the forest, before checking into Fostiano Hotel for the night.

Dai Village → Jinghong
A gentler final day: around three hours spent walking through a Dai village, learning about the daily life, architecture and Buddhist traditions of Xishuangbanna's largest ethnic group. In the afternoon, transfer back to Jinghong, arriving in the evening as the trip comes to a close.
